Happy New Year!

Well, it is 9:23pm on New Years Eve. I am sitting in my home in my jammies doing my blog and watching Public Enemies, the story of John Dillinger. Woo-hoo!!!! I just hope and pray that 2010 will be better than 2009. I think that first I will write about my being a Communications Officer and maybe give a few helpful tips to the public. Next I will write a journal type blog about being Mrs. Brent Pritchard. That should be a good one. I was also thinking about doing a blog sort of like the one Julie Powell did in the Julie/Julia project. Maybe I will do a Paula Deen or maybe a southern cook like that. We will just have to wait and see what the new year will bring.

The Real First Responders

Hello! My name is Nikki, and I am a Communications Officer (a.k.a. a 911 Operator) for the county that I live in. People always view the police officers, firefighters and paramedics as being the first responders. This is a misconception... the operator that you get when you call 911 is your real first responder. It is the operator that you tell your "problem", or "emergency to. The operator then assess the type of help that you need. It is actually the operator that sends out the paramedics, firefighters, and law enforcement officers. Without them, you wouldn't get any help.
